I. Registration
  1. What is NBA 3X

    NBA 3X Philippines 2018 presented by AXA is an elite 3-on-3 basketball competition based on FIBA 3x3 format and rules combined with authentic NBA entertainment. Now on its eighth consecutive year, NBA 3X Philippines promotes basketball among casual and competitive fans as well as invites boys and girls of all skill levels to compete for the tournament’s top honors and bragging rights.
  2. How do I register? How much is the registration fee for the Men’s and Women’s Divisions?

    Fans can visit the NBA 3X Philippines presented by AXA official website ( and select the Register tab to access the online registration form.

    Registration fee for Men’s and Women’s Divisions:
    • Age division teams – Php 1,000 per team
    • Open division teams – Php 1,600 per team

    Complete the form and select the preferred mode of payment:
    1. Credit Card/PayPal – (available for both North Luzon and Manila Qualifiers)
    2. Over-the-Counter Transaction – (available for Manila Qualifiers only)
      1. OTC payments to be made at the A+B Expedio Office located on the 5th Floor of The Community Building, Metropoli Drive Cor. E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave., Libis Quezon City.

    Team slots per division will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis upon completion of payment.
  3. How can I pay?

    There are two payment options listed below, but teams participating in the North Luzon Qualifiers will have access only to the Credit Card/PayPal option. Teams must keep a copy of the completed transaction and bring this during event check-in.

    1. Credit Card/PayPal

      For teams paying online, select PayPal as the mode of payment and log-in to your PayPal account to process transaction. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can opt to pay via Credit Card through the PayPal service (no registration needed). Please print a copy of the completed transaction as reference.
    2. Over-the-Counter Transaction

      For over-the-counter transactions, the team representative will receive an email including a registration form and waiver form that will be presented upon payment. Teams participating in the Metro Manila Qualifiers need to proceed to the A+B Expedio Office (5th Floor of The Community Building, Metropoli Drive Cor. E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave., Libis Quezon City) any time from 9 am to 5 pm on Mondays to Fridays and submit payment to confirm slot.
  4. What do I need to bring during the official event check-in? What will participants receive at the official event check-in?

    Participating teams are required to bring printed copies of the ff. documents to the official check-in booths:
    • Registration Form (containing Team Registration Number)
    • Waiver Form (signed by all team members and parent/guardian for any player under 18 years old)
    • Photocopy of all players’ government-issued IDs
    • Proof of Payment:
      • Credit Card/Paypal – Confirmation Email or Print out of Completed Transaction
      • Over-the-counter – Registration Form signed by OTC Cashier

    The official check-in booth will be stationed at these locations on the following dates and will open for each division at the listed timeslots:
    • Aug. 11-12 – Benguet State University
      • Saturday, August 11, 2018
        • 7am – 9am: Boys U18 Division
        • 9am – 11am: Men’s Open Division
      • Sunday, August 12, 2018
        • 7am – 9am: Boys U13 Division
        • 9am – 11am: Boys U16 Division
        • 11am – 130pm: Girls U18 and Women’s Open Divisions
    • Aug. 18-19 – Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati
      • Saturday, August 18, 2018
        • 7am – 9am: Boys U13 Division
        • 10am – 12pm: Boys U16 Division
        • 1pm – 3pm: Boys U18 Division
      • Sunday, August 19, 2018
        • 7am – 9am: Men’s Open Division
        • 10am – 12pm: Girls U18 and Women’s Open Divisions

    Teams will receive the participant packs each containing:
    • Event Jersey
    • Game Schedule
    • Sponsor Giveaways (if any)
  5. Do all the team members need to be present during the official event check-in?

    Yes. The official event check-in will be on the same day of the team’s games, which requires all team members to be properly tagged prior to playing.
  6. What will happen if I do not bring my personal ID to the event check-in? Do I need my personal ID throughout the entire tournament?

    Yes. Each participant must provide their government-issued ID (stating date of birth) to be checked in and play each game.

    Failure to present an ID means automatic player disqualification for that particular match. In the event that the forfeited player is the third player on the team, the team forfeits the match as teams will not be allowed to play with less than three (3) players.

    Any player who forfeits a game due to inability to provide their government-issued ID must find and present this document to game officials in order to play in the next game.
  7. When is the deadline for registration?

    Aug. 6, 2018, 11:59 pm is the registration deadline for NBA 3X Philippines 2018 presented by AXA. The tournament will have a cap for the number of participating teams. Team slots are secured by registering online and completing registration fee payment to be prioritized.
II. Player/Team Eligibility
  1. Who is eligible to play? What age group am I eligible to sign up for?

    NBA 3X Philippines 2018 presented by AXA consists of the Men’s Division and Women’s Division. The participant’s age on Dec. 31, 2018 will determine the age group the player is eligible to join. All players in a team must conform to the age rule to be classified under the right division.

    *Including considerations for teams who will “Play Up”

    For example, if your current age is 17 and your birthday is on December 1, 2000 and since you are 18 by December 31, 2018, you are considered as 18 years old for this tournament and are required to join the Men’s or Women’s Open division.

    In addition, the tournament allows teams to “Play Up”, meaning Age Division teams, excluding the U18 participants, will be allowed to join up to one division higher. U13 and U16 teams can participate in the U16 and U18 divisions respectively. U18 participants will not be allowed to join the Men’s Open division.
  2. How many players can we have on the roster?

    Each team needs at least three (3) and up to a maximum of four (4) players to register.

  2. How many games does each team get to play and what is the tournament format?

    Each team is guaranteed a minimum of two (2) games. The tournament starts off in a group stage, where teams will play round-robin against other teams in their group. Winners of each group proceed to knock-out stages if necessary until the tournament is able to the appropriate number of teams to proceed to the NBA3X Philippines Playoffs.

    In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, the NBA 3X Committee reserves the right to alter the game and tournament format to ensure event completion.
  3. What are the tournament’s hours of operation?

    Please note that operating hours and game times are subject to change in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  1. What are the rules for the NBA 3X Philippines 2018 tournament?

    The rules for NBA 3X Philippines 2018 follows the same rules as that of FIBA 3x3 and applied across all divisions. Each player is expected to read and understand these rules prior to the tournament which can be found on this site. Any questions should be directed to the NBA 3X Committee present at the event.
  2. What is the required uniform during games?

    Each team member will receive a participant pack containing the NBA 3X Philippines 2018 jersey which serves as the official tournament uniform. Jersey sizes are distributed in a first come first served format during team check-in based on the size you indicated during registration. In the event that a specific size has run out, the tournament organizers will provide best efforts to give one size up or down. In the event that a player is unable to wear the given jersey due to size constraints, team members must wear shirts of the same color as the alternate uniform.
  3. Do we have to bring our own ball?

    No. There will be one (1) official Spalding ball provided each game, in accordance of FIBA 3X3 rules, the balls for the tournament will be regulation size 6 with a 28.5” circumference.
  4. Do we need to have a coach?

    No. Your team can play with or without a coach.
  5. Will there be referees for every game?

    Yes. There will be an accredited referee to officiate each game. The NBA 3X Philippines 2018 Tournament Director will also be onsite to monitor referee performance throughout the matches.
  6. Will there be a First Aid team present?

    Yes. A First Aid station will be set up to provide participants with basic medical assistance throughout the entire event duration.
  7. What is the prize for division winners?

    Each member of the winning team from all divisions will receive a trophy and prizes from our partners.
  1. What is the weather policy?

    If adverse weather forces unplayable conditions, the event can result in the following:
    • All games will continue as scheduled unless the Tournament Director notifies teams of any changes via onsite announcements and online updates.
    • Games may be delayed or shortened by reducing the points required to win a game. Also, the tournament playoff format may be changed at the discretion of the NBA 3X Committee.
    • If playing conditions are deemed unsafe, games may be completely cancelled or postponed to an alternate day at the discretion of the NBA 3X Philippines Committee.
  2. What is the refund policy?

    Once the teams have paid the registration fee, full refunds will not be offered. However, partial refunds can be availed if guaranteed games are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
